Rumpke to resign as Town & Country Bank CEO; Wimsett named interim chief

Thursday, March 27, 2014 — Linda L. Rumpke, president and CEO of Town & Country Bank and Trust Co. will resign her position effective April 11, 2014. Raffo Wimsett will take over as interim president and CEO according to a bank press release issued Thursday.

“I have spent the last three years primarily focused on helping lead our bank through the challenges it faced when I arrived in 2011,” Rumpke said. “In order to accomplish our goals, it required me to place the needs of our bank as my top priority. We ended 2013 by not only being released from our regulatory Consent Order but also posted a profit for the first time since 2009.”

With the bank on a firm, financial footing, “it seemed an appropriate time for me to reprioritize and put the needs of my family first,” she said.

A 31-year employee, Raffo Wimsett joined Town & Country Bank as a loan officer in 1983. He held a various leadership positions at the bank, most recently serving as executive vice president and chief retail and business development officer. In 2009 he was elected to the Town & Country bank board of directors and the First Farmers Bank Holding Company board and will remain in that role.

Wimsett has been an active part of the community and has served on the Nazareth Village Board, Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce, BIDC, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, American Heart Association and St Joseph Athletic Board.

“We are all very grateful to Linda for her strong leadership, tireless efforts and superb execution,” board Chairman Tom Wimsett said through the press release.

“Although we are saddened by Linda’s departure, the board has tremendous confidence in Raffo and the rest of our management team and employees who have all contributed greatly to the turnaround at Town & Country Bank and Trust Co.”
