Obituary: James ‘Jim’ R. Clark, 70, of Hanover, Md., formerly of Athertonville
James “Jim” R. Clark, 70, of Hanover, Md., formerly of Athertonville, died March 30, 2014.
He was born in Athertonville and lived in Hanover, Md., for 31 years. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine from 1963 to 1983, serving two tours in Vietnam and retiring as a Master Sergeant. He worked for 23 years as an AT&T staff analyst from 1983 to 2012 before retiring again. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gloria J. Haney Clark; two sisters, Lisa A. Stevens and Theresa Saylor of Pasadena; one son, Jeremy Clark of Pasadena; 11 brothers and sisters; and two grandchildren.
The funeral is 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014, at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, Md.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name for pulmonary fibrosis research, made payable to Johns Hopkins University, may be mailed to: Fund For Johns Hopkins Medicine, 5200 Eastern Ave., MFL Center Tower, Suite 356, Baltimore, MD 21224.
