Bardstown woman cited for falsely reporting burglary at her home

police_badgeThursday, April 3, 2014, 2:30 p.m. — A local woman was cited today by Bardstown Police for falsely reporting an incident after an investigation into a burglary she said happened at her home.

On Thursday, March 27, 2014, Bardstown Police responded to reported burglary at the home of Angela M. Zizzo, 39, of Bardstown.

Zizzo told police she confronted a male subject wearing a grey hoodie, black ball cap and jeans who had entered her residence through a basement window. She told police the suspect fled her home on foot and that she pursued the man. According to a police department press release, as the investigation progressed, police became suspicious of her initial allegations.

When Zizzo was interviewed today by police detective Lynn Davis, she reportedly admitted to falsely reporting the burglary. After consulting with the Nelson County Attorney’s Office, Zizzo was cited to Nelson District Court.
