Bardstown Fire called Friday to truck fire in BG’s eastbound lanes
Friday, April 4, 2014, 9:30 a.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called to the 29 mile marker of the eastbound lanes of the Bluegrass Parkway Friday morning about 7:30 for a tractor-trailer fire.
Firefighters arrived to find the tractor part of the semi fully engulfed in flames. Fire had not yet spread to the trailer. Firefighters, with the help of the Anderson County firefighters, extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to the trailer. The parkway’s eastbound lanes were closed for more than a hour while firefighters were on the scene. A wrecker service removed the remaining diesel fuel from the rig’s tanks before it was removed from the scene. Firefighter were at the scene until 9 a.m.
