MARY ANN GRAVES

Mary Ann Graves, 69, of Louisville, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Norton Hospital. She was born April 24, 1944, in Marion County. She was a retired social worker for Jefferson County Public Schools and a graduate of Nazareth College in Bardstown and the University of Louisville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mayola Buckler Graves; and one sister, Frances (Fannie) O’Nan.

Survivors include four sisters, Louise Couch (Ken), Sue Hickey (Joe) all of Lexington, Elaine Murphy (Clarence) of Lebanon and Patricia Reed (John) of Springfield, one brother, Louis B. Graves, Jr. of Lexington, her dear friend of 45 years, Anna Casey of Loretto and 14 nieces and nephews and one brother-in-law, Ames O’Nan of Springfield.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, St. Francis, with burial to follow in St. Rose Cemetery in Springfield. The Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 5 p.m.

Donations in her memory may go to the charity of donor’s choice.

Pallbearers are her nephews, C. W. Murphy, Jr., Chad Murphy, Joe Hickey Jr., Robert Hickey, Louis B. Graves, III, Matthew Reed, Luke Reed, Morrison O’Nan and Louis O’Nan.

Honorary pallbearers are her nieces.

Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
