Tractor-trailer recovery closes eastbound BG for nearly 2-1/2 hours

Nelson SheriffSTAFF REPORT

Tuesday, April 8, 2014, 8:25 a.m. — The eastbound lanes of the Bluegrass Parkway were shut down at the 21 mile marker for nearly 2-1/2 hours after a semi tractor-trailer rig ran off the road into the media at about 5 a.m.

To get the semi out of the media, sheriff’s deputies closed the parkway’s eastbound lanes in order for wreckers to bring the truck back onto the roadway. The eastbound entrance ramp from  US31E (New Haven Road) to the parkway was also closed to traffic.

The eastbound lanes were reopened at 8:20 a.m. No one was injured in the incident.
