Obituary: Joseph Thomas ‘Tommy’ Smith, 84, Lebanon

Joseph Thomas “Tommy” Smith, 84, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He was born June 29, 1929, in Washington County. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a retired teacher from the Marion County Vocational School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary Perkins Smith; one sister, Gladys Daugherty; and three brothers, James, Richard and Lester Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Wicker Smith of Lebanon; one daughter, Barbara “Barb” (Terry) Batcher of Lebanon; two sons, Terry (Fran) Smith of Loretto and Joey (Maria) Smith of Louisville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon with the Rev. Steve Skaggs officiating. Burial is in the Old Liberty Cemetery.

Visitations is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the funeral home.

The Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of arrangements.
