Obituary: Bobby Hal Crume, 82, Chaplin
Bobby Hal Crume, 82, of Chaplin, died Friday, April 11, 2014. He was born March 28, 1932, in Bloomfield. He was a member of the Carpenters Local Union No. 64, and retired from the Louisville-based Al J. Schneider Co. He was a self-employed building contractor and was well-known in Nelson County for his construction of new homes and remodeling work. He was a member of the Chaplin Christian Church.
He was the oldest son of the late Charles R. and Lavon Seay Crume.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Holt Crume; one daughter, Carla (Baxter) Schilling of Louisville; two sisters, JoAnn Howard of Bloomfield and Vickie S. Gaddie of Bardstown; four brothers, Charles R. (Karen) Crume, Jerry D. Crume, Teddy S. Crume, all of Bloomfield, and Jackie (Myrt) Crume of Bardstown; one sister-in-law, Doris (I.B.) Jenkins of Louisville; his mother-in-law, Margie Holt of Chaplin; two grandsons, William Preston Schilling and John Baxter “Jeb” Schilling, both of Louisville; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Houghlin Funeral Home with burial in Highview Cemetery. The Rev. Everett G. Hood will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014.
