DOROTHY LANHAM

Dorothy Faye Lanham, 77, of Gravel Switch, died Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Springfield Nursing & Rehab Center. She was born Dec. 9, 1936, in Washington County. She was a retired seamstress from Jane & Linda Sportswear.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Ray Lanham in 2011; her parents, Cecil “Mink” and Ella Mae Logue Burns; and one brother-in-law, James Clarkson.

Survivors include two sons, Anthony “Tony” (Kim) Lanham and James Cecil (Tammye) Lanham, both of Gravel Switch; two sisters, Wanda Mae Clarkson of Springfield, and Lillie Catherine (Lowell) Taylor of Perryville; three brothers, Elmer C. (Betty) Burns of Shepherdsville, Sam (Emma) Burns of Greensburg and William T. “Billy” (Darthea) Burns of Springfield; six grandchildren, Emily Lanham (Jeff Butts), Erin (Joel) Raikes, Holly Lanham (Joe Browning), Mallie Lanham (John Lee), Dana (Lee) Walker, and James Cecil Lanham, Jr.; four stepgrandchildren, Susan Strange, Melinda (John) Goldey, Curt (Heather) Strange and Mary Beth Strange; 11 great-grandchildren, Nathan and Natalie Cox, Nora Beth Bland, Ezra Butts, Alexis Raikes, Isabella Raikes, Jordan Browning, Charleigh Browning, Chole Logan, Kyra Logan and Donovan Logan; and four stepgreat-grandchildren, Grayden Strange, Lillith Strange, Izabel Goldey, and Ja’Maruie Walker.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at Bosley Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Alvin Wren and assisted by Sr. Josephine Nuckols, Deacon Ellis Meaux, and Brother Joe Elby. Burial will follow in the Hayesville Cemetery.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at the funeral home.

The Bosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
