Malicious fire extinguisher discharge prompts fire run to Jailer’s Inn

Saturday, April 16, 2011, 2:02 a.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded to a report of a possible structure fire at one of the city’s downtown landmarks, the Jailer’s Inn Bed & Breakfast, 111 West Stephen Foster Ave. at about 2 a.m. Saturday morning. Once on scene, firefighters discovered a fire extinguisher had been discharged in the building but there was no fire. Firefighters stayed on scene to help ventilate the building. Bardstown Police and officers from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the call. Firefighters were on scene for about 40 minutes.
