Obituary: Dorothy Ann Nalley, 67, Bardstown

DOROTHY ANN NALLEY

Dorothy Ann Nalley, 67, of Bardstown, lost her battle with cancer on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at University of Louisville Hospital. She was the former Dorothy Cox and was born April 1, 1947, in Cox’s Creek. She was a homemaker and a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed the outdoors and an avid bowler. She enjoyed playing horseshoes with her family and friends. She loved her dogs Tippy and Trixie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert “Pete” and Laura Ethel Harley Cox; and two sisters, Mary Ethel Hilbert and Janie Chesser.

She is survived by her husband, Donald “Donnie” Nalley; two sisters, Lois Cox Gordon of Fairfield and Nancy Cox Cahoe of Bardstown; three brothers, Joseph “Joe” (Charlotte Shields) Cox and Robert “Bobby” (Mary Helen) Cox, both of Bardstown, and Billy Ray Cox of Mount Washington; her caregiver and special friend, Linda Combs; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery. Bro. David Walker will officiate.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, and 8:30-11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
