Bardstown Fire responds to smell of burning wires on Filiatreau Lane

Saturday, April 19, 2014, 6:30 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called out at 3:07 Saturday afternoon to an apartment in the 2300 block of Filiatreau Lane for an odor investigation. A resident reported the smell of wires buring in the home. The incident commander investigated and found a piece of plastic dishware laying against the dryer element in the dishwasher was the source of the odor. The responding fire units were canceled. Firefighters cleared the scene in about 20 minutes.
