STAFF REPORT
Tuesday, April 22, 2014 — Police say that it was Jill Lundy, the Bardstown woman who allegedly shot her husband Monday morning, who called 911 to report the incident to police.
According to a press release from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Department, Lundy, 30, told police her husband, Mark Lundy, 34, was being transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital. Lundy was driven to the hospital by his father, and arrived shortly after Jill Lundy made the 911 call.
After police secured the scene, Jill Lundy was taken to the sheriff’s office for questioning and a search warrant was executed at their Woodlawn Road home. Police recovered evidence and discovered an extensive indoor marijuana growing operation at the home, along with several pounds of processed marijuana. The Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force was asked to respond. Jill Lundy declined to make a statement to police.
Lundy was arrested and charged with first-degree assault. Other charges may be filed pending the outcome of the police investigation.
Mark Lundy was listed in stable condition at University Hospital Tuesday morning.
