Bardstown Fire called to apartment building fire early Thursday morning

This fourplex apartment building was damaged by fire about 2 a.m. Thursday morning. At press time no injuries had yet been reported.

Thursday, May 1, 2014, 2:45 a.m. — A Henrytown neighborhood fourplex apartment building suffered fire damage early Thursday morning in a blaze reported just before 2 a.m.

The building at 403 East Halstead had flames showing when Bardstown Police arrived on scene within minutes after the fire was reported to Nelson County Dispatch. The Bardstown Fire Department requested additional manpower from the Northeast Nelson Fire Department to help fight the fire. Firefighters had the fire under control by 2:49 a.m.

The American Red Cross responded to assist the displaced apartment building residents with temporary housing. Check back for more on this developing story.
