15-year-old driver charged after fleeing from police during traffic stop

bardstownpolicepatchTuesday, May 6, 2014, 2 p.m. — A 15-year-old juvenile faces wanton endangerment and other charges after he fled from police Saturday, May 3, 2014, taking them on a that began on Bloomfield Road, detoured to the Keystone Cinema before coming to an end on on Fifth Street.

At 2:23 p.m. Saturday, Bardstown Police Officer Jaron Skillman saw a Toyota passenger car on Bloomfield Road commit a traffic violation. When Skillman attempted a traffic stop, the driver refused to stop. The car turned on East John Rowan Boulevard and pulled into Keystone Cinema. Two males fled the car at the cinema and the driver fled the scene, running the traffic light at KY 245 and North Third Street.

The juvenile was taken into police custody and charged with wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police; disregarding a traffic control device; reckless driving; and license plate not illuminated.
