Obituary: Paula Hamelin, 61, Lebanon

Paula Hamelin, 61, of Lebanon, died Friday, May 9, 2014, at U of L Hospital. She was born June 11, 1952, in Uxbridge, Mass. She attended Worcester State University where she earned a master’s degree in speech pathology. She formerly worked at Flaget Hospital in Bardstown and formerly owned and raced standard bred pacer and trotter horses. She was a member of the Kentucky and American Speech-Language-Hearing Associations.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Turpack and Irene Ference Turpack.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Leo A. Hamelin, Jr.; two daughters, Nicole Griffith (Philip) of Elizabethtown and Lauren Hamelin of Lebanon; one son, Jesse Lee Hamelin, at home; four grandchildren, Iris and Afina Griffith of Elizabethtown, and Madison Hamelin and Bentlee Spears of Lebanon.

No public services are planned. Cremation was chosen. Expressions of sympathy may go to the Marion County Humane Society, 1105 Highway 208, Lebanon, KY 40033.

Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of the arrangements.
