Bardstown Fire responded to kitchen fire on South Third Street

Friday, May 16, 2014, 3 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded to a kitchen fire reported at a home in the 500 block of South Sixth Street at 12:50 Friday afternoon. Firefighters arriving on scene reported seeing light smoke coming from the home. The fire was extinguished with hand held extinguishers, and firefighters used their fans to remove smoke from the home. Firefighters were on the scene for about an hour. The American Red Cross responded to assist the residents with housing needs.
