Nelson Circuit Court Indictments–May 21, 2014

Thursday, May 22, 2014 – The following people were indicted by a Nelson County grand jury on Wednesday, May 21, 2014. They are scheduled for arraignment June 5, 2014, unless otherwise indicated.
14-CR-112. Jesse D. Adams, 34, Bardstown, possession of a controlled substance, first-degree; possession of a firearm while committing an offense; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of legend drugs.
According to the indictment, on Dec. 13, 2013, Adams allegedly was found in possession of cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, omprazole pills and several firearms. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-113. Jerry D. Emmerson, 36, Lexington, flagrant non-support.
According to the indictment, between Feb. 1, 2010 and March 31, 2014, Emmerson allegedly failed to provide support he was ordered to pay, resulting in an arrearage of $11,916.50. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.
14-CR-114. Sherry Lynn Hardin, 30, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree (2 counts); complicity to trafficking in controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school; complicity to trafficking in controlled substances.
According to the indictment, on Nov. 18, 2013, Hardin allegedly sold morphine to a confidential source. The indictment further alleges that Hardin — acting alone or in concert with Mary Melvin and Arthur Butler — sold
oxycodone pills to a confidential source on Oct. 29, 2013, and sold morphine to a confidential source within 1,000 feet of St. Joseph School and Bardstown Elementary School. Bail was set at $20,000 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-115. Billy J. Mitchell, 32, New Haven, manufacturing methamphetamine; possession of a prescription not in a proper container; possess of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; persistent felony offender, second-degree.
According to the indictment, on April 25, 2014, Mitchell allegedly manufactured methamphetamine while in possession of hydrocodone, drug paraphernalia, and a prescription not in the container in which it was prescribed. Mitchell’s prior felony conviction was the basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-116. Matthew O. Turner, 33, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, Turner — acting alone or in concert with Sherry Lynn Hardin — allegedly sold oxycodone pills to a confidential source. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-117. Rachel Lynn Madison, aka Rachel Lynn Stone, 42, Bardstown, custodial interference (2 counts).
According to the indictment, on Jan. 31, 2014, Madison took custody of two minor children knowing she had no legal right to do so. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-118. Mary R. Melvin, 49, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree and complicity to the same; trafficking in controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, on Nov. 19, 2013, Melvin — acting alone or in concert with Sherry Lynn Hardin and Arthur Butler — allegedly sold morphine pills to a confidential source within 1,000 feet of St. Joseph School and Bardstown Elementary School. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.
14-CR-119. Michael Chad Greenwell, 30, Coxs Creek, promoting contraband, first-degree; possession of synthetic cannabinoid agonists or piperazines; promoting contraband, second-degree; tampering with physical evidence; public intoxication; persistent felony offender, second-degree.
According to the indictment, on Feb. 3, 2014, Greenwell allegedly brought tobacco, rolling papers and a green leafy substance into the Nelson County Jail while in possession of synthetic cannabinoid. Greenwell allegedly hid the contraband in his anus with intent to impair its availability while under the influence of controlled substances or another intoxicating substance. Greenwell’s prior felony conviction was the basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-120. Arthur Butler, 52, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree and complicity to the same; trafficking in controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, on Nov. 19, 2013, Melvin — acting alone or in concert with Sherry Lynn Hardin and Mary Melvin — allegedly sold morphine pills to a confidential source within 1,000 feet of St. Joseph School and Bardstown Elementary School. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.
14-CR-121. Conor Wayne Creekmore, 18, Hodgenville, burglary, second-degree; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana; possession of alcoholic beverage by a minor.
According to the indictment, on April 20, 2014, Creekmore allegedly entered another person’s home with the intent to commit a crime, and was found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. On Oct. 20, 2014, Creekmore — a minor — was found in possession of an alcoholic beverage. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
