ARTHUR BRYAN SPALDING

Arthur Bryan Spalding, 73, of Cox’s Creek, died Friday, May 23, 2014, in Louisville. He was born Dec. 9, 1940, in Cox’s Creek. He was a 1959 graduate of St. Joe Prep and was retired from Rohm & Haas Chemical Co. He was an Air Force veteran, and served as a police officer in Lexington for seven years. He was a member of St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Leo and Frances H. Spalding; one sister, Emogene Spalding; and one brother, Charles Stephen Spalding.

He is survived by one daughter, Renee Spalding of Mooresville, N.C.; two sons, Scott Spalding of Mooresville, N.C. and Art Spalding Cox’s Creek; six sisters; four brothers; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and longtime friend Debby Achor of Louisville.

His Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at St. Gregory Catholic Church. Burial is in the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Eve will officiate.

Visitation is 3–8 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014, and 9–10:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown.

Memorial contributions may go to American Heart Association.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
