Obituary: William Duncan Feltner, 84, of Bardstown

WILLIAM DUNCAN FELTNER

William Duncan Feltner, 84, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at his home. He was born in Stewart County, Tenn., on April 28, 1930. He was a graduate of the Kentucky State Police Academy and was a retired Kentucky State Police Trooper and detective.

He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police, the Kentucky State Police Professional Association (KSPPA), which he helped organize. His peers elected him Trooper of the Year twice for Post 4 in Elizabethtown. He attended Bardstown Baptist Church and was an Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Benjamin & Maysel Brown Feltner.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Thompson Feltner, two sons, Scott (Kim) Feltner of Bardstown and Tony (Sara) Feltner of Louisville; one sister, Jean (Paul) Green of Hopkinsville; and three grandchildren, Ryan Williams, Hannah Feltner and Emily Feltner.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014, and after 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home.

The family has requested expressions of sympathy take the form of donation to the Bardstown Baptist Church Building Fund.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown is in charge of arrangements.
