Obituary: Anna Ruth Bryant, 93, Bardstown
Anna Ruth Bryant, 93, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at her daughter’s home. She was born Aug. 14, 1920, in Taylorsville. She was a homemaker and member of Mill Creek Baptist Church where she served for more than 30 years as Vacation Bible School director, Sunday school teacher, and a member of the choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Bryant; and her parents, Jacob & Louisa Bell Love McGee.
She is survived by eight daughters, Betty Lou (Tom) Yankey of Campbellsville, Dolly Ann (Lin) Ruby of Louisville, Bonnie Jo (John) Burkhead of Lexington, Ruth Sharlene (Cron) Broaddus of Bloomfield, June Karen (Joe) Porter of Taylorsville, and Rhoda Jean (Jim) Crenshaw, Mary Patsy Fiedler and Rebecca Lane (Joe) Foster, all of Bardstown; two sons, Joseph P.’Tex’ (Linda) Bryant II and Paul Jacob Bryant, both of Bardstown; 24 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown with burial in Mill Creek Baptist Church cemetery. Bro. Leland Parks will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, and after 8:30 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, at the funeral home.
The family requests expressions of sympathy to the form of donations to Mill Creek Church Cemetery.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
