Obituary: Rose Aline Black, 88, formerly of Bardstown

ROSE ALINE BLACK

Rose Aline Black, 88, formerly of Bardstown, died Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. She was born Dec. 2, 1925, in Spencer County. She was a homemaker and member of Huntsinger Lane Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Maxie Donald Black; one son, William Anthony Browning; her parents, William Thomas & Maudie Elizabeth Dugan; one sister, Evelyn Avis; and two brothers, Thomas Yocum and Charles Ray Yocum.

She is survived by three daughters, Roberta (Boots) Nally of Bardstown, Sharon (Danny) Stoess of Pewee Valley and Vickie Lynn (Perry) Smith of Louisville; two sisters, Ethel Cook and Irma Livers, both of Bardstown; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Meadows of Carrollton; 10 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is noon Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery with Bro. Charlie Davis officiating.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, and 8:30-noon Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
