Monday, June 9, 2014, 3 a.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called early Monday morning to the 200 block of Stinson Drive for a mobile home fire. The fire was reported by a resident on Piper Drive. Firefighters were dispatched at 12:28 a.m. The first firefighter on the scene reported an apparent abandoned mobile home that was fully involved in flames. Firefighters had the fire under control in about 20 minutes, and worked to prevent the fire from spreading until the fire trucks ran short of water. Fire department tankers shuttled water to the scene to help fight and extinguish the fire. No one was injured in the blaze. Firefighters were on scene conducting salvage operations for nearly two hours.
