Two injured Wednesday morning in 3-vehicle Bluegrass Parkway crash

Wednesday, June 11, 2014, 12:15 p.m. — Two people were injured Wednesday morning in a three-vehicle crash in the crash_accidentwestbound lanes of the Bluegrass Parkway near the 15 mile marker.

Nelson County EMS, police and the Bardstown Fire Department were called out to a three-vehicle injury crash at 9:10 a.m. The occupant of one the vehicles was reported to be trapped in the vehicle with unknown injuries. A passing emergency room physician was on the scene assisting with the injured when firefighters and EMS arrived.

A medical helicopter was requested due to the severity of one victim’s injuries; however due to the weather conditions the helicopter was unable to fly. EMS transported two of the crash victims from the scene to Hardin Memorial Hospital for treatment. Firefighters stayed at the crash site until 12:15 and assisted with traffic control while the three vehicles were removed from the roadway.
