Obituary: Clara Lois ‘Grammy’ Roby, 80, Bardstown
Clara Lois “Grammy” Roby, 80, of Bardstown, passed peacefully from this world to be with our Lord on Thursday, June 12, 2014. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and aunt. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church (D.O.C.) where she was an elder and elder emeritus. She devoted her life to God and her family. She touched the lives of many, both young and old, through her Christian faith.
“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2
She was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Roby; and four brothers.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia (Gerry) Schaefer, Kelly (Dennis) Myers, and Kate (Jeff) Austin; two sons, Mike (Cindy) Adams and Kevin (Teresa) Adams; one brother, Donnie (Diane) Pyle; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three stepchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the First Christian Church (D.O.C.) with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Dr. Rick Loader will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014, and 9-10:15 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Barlow Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may go to First Christian Church (D.O.C.).
