Obituary: Joseph Wilbur ‘Bill’ Mudd, 95, Bardstown

Joseph Wilbur “Bill” Mudd, 95, of Bardstown, died Friday, June 13, 2014, at Colonial Health & Rehab. He was born Sept. 12, 1918, in Nelson County. He was retired from Jim Beam Brands, and was a member of St. Gregory Catholic funeral_doveChurch.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jewell Mudd; his second wife, Shirley Hall Mudd; three sons, Jimmy Mudd, Joe Mudd, and Jerry Mudd; two daughters, Martha Dross, and Brenda Downs; his parents, J.B. and Mattie Lee Mudd; one sister, Cleo Mudd; and two brothers, Melvin Mudd and Paul D. Mudd.

He is survived by six daughters, Gleada Spalding of Louisville, Jannie Farnsworth of Tennessee, and Linda Humphrey, Mary Ballard, Becky Mudd and Anita Mudd, all of Nelson County; four brothers, Michael Mudd, Charlie Mudd, Mark Mudd and David Mudd, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at St. Gregory Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Eve will officiate.

Visitation is 2–7 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2014, and 9–10:15 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at Barlow Funeral Home. A prayer service is 6 p.m. Sunday.

Memorial contributions may go to St. Gregory Catholic Church.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
