Obituary: Alton Wayne Hagan, 67, Willisburg

Alton Wayne Hagan, 67, of Lawson Lane, Willisburg, died at 2 a.m. Sunday, June 15, 2014, at the home of his funeral_flowerson Doug in New Haven. He was a native of Marion County and born Dec. 6, 1946, to the late John Albert, Jr. and Agnes Mattingly Hagan.

He retired in January 2013 after working for the Barton Distillery for 47 years. He was a 1965 graduate of St. Catherine High School in New Haven. He was a member of the Anchor Of Hope Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Evans Hagan; one grandson, William Brady Hagan; one great-grandson, Joseph Dale Willett; one brother, Randy Hagan; and a special friend, Earlene Mattingly.

Survivors include, two daughters, Lisa Riley (Joey) of Boston and Crystal Gail Hayden (Kevin) of Bardstown; two sons, Charles Ballard “Chuck” Hagan (Rhonda) of Willisburg and Doug Hagan (Carisa) of New Haven; one stepdaughter, Dawn Barr (Jeff) of Springfield; one stepson, Brian Madden of Springfield; two sisters, Wanda Murrow (Danny) of Louisville and Linda Newton (Jerry) of St. Francis; five brothers, Larry Hagan (Diane) of Loretto, Joe Hagan (Faye) of St. Francis, Steve Hagan (Anita) of Springfield, Danny Hagan of Buffalo and Keith Hagan of New Hope; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at the Anchor Of Hope Church with the Rev. Ricky Cheatham and the Rev. Larry Baker, officiating. Burial is in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the Anchor of Hope Church, 9190 Highway 555, Willisburg.

Casket bearers are Nathan Hagan, Nicholas Hagan, Larry Hagan, Steve Hagan, Danny Hagan and Keith Hagan.
Honorary pallbearers were Joe Hagan, Steven Hagan and Adam Barr.

Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
