Obituary: Joseph “Leo” Hall, 79, New Haven

Joseph “Leo” Hall, 79, of New Haven, died Sunday, June 15, 2014, at his home. He was born Feb. 4, 1935, in New Haven. He was a retired self-employed farmer and of the Catholic faith.

funeral_doveHe was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Elizabeth Weathers Hall; two brothers, Reco Hall and Ross Hall Jr.; and one grandson, Michael Paul Newton.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Frieda Mattingly Hall; four daughters, Shirley Jean Frederick, Rachel Joan Newton, Jane Lynn Eigelbach and Joyce Ann Seward, all of Bardstown; two sons, Joseph Leo Hall Jr. of Clarksville, Tenn. and John Ross Hall of Bardstown; one sister, Shirley Waldridge of Bardstown; one half-brother, David Barnes of Bardstown; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at the funeral home.

The family request aks that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
