Bardstown Police were called to the hospital ER after a two-year-old child was brought to the hospital with visible hand prints on his back. The injuries were discovered by a grandparent who brought the child to the hospital after finding the injuries. The child’s mother was not at home at the time of the incident.

Police located Ryan N. Hayes, 21, the boyfriend of the child’s mother, at a home on South Fourth Street. While police were talking with Hayes, he began yelling at officers who then asked him to be quiet. After numerous warnings to lower his voice, Hayes was placed under arrest.
