Local therapist receives board certification in geriatric physical therapy

Saturday, June 21, 2014 — Cox’s Creek resident Tammy Brooks was recently awarded the national board certification in geriatric physical therapy.
She is currently one of six American Physical Therapy Association members in Kentucky to hold the certification.
The certification identifies physical therapists with advanced clinical knowledge and experience and their commitment to providing the best evidence-based care for older adults. The certification process is managed by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.
Brooks has been a licensed physical therapist since 1985. She currently works for Life Care Center of Bardstown, and is also publisher of the Nelson County Gazette.
