Obituary: James Beavers, 85, of Lebanon
James Beavers, 85, of Lebanon, died Sunday, June 22, 2014, at his hom. He was born Dec. 6, 1928, in Marion County. He was a retired employee of the Lebanon Housing Authority where he worked in maintenance for 37 years. He was a member of the Lebanon Fire Department for 22 years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Kathryn Tungate Beavers; his parents, Henry Bluford and Mary Agnes Williams Beavers; one son, Paul Wesley Beavers; three sisters, Myrtle Cochran, Catherine Brady and Pearlie Rodgers; three brothers, Charlie, Carl and J.B. Beavers.
Survivors include two sons, James Alan (Joan) Beavers of Knifley and John David Beavers of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Shawn Alfaro, Alan Beavers, Jr., Kay Turpin and Brandon Beavers; four great-grandchildren, Jordan Alfaro, Gabriel Alfaro, Paige Beavers and Wheatley Turpin.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints officiated by Elder Garland Buckman with burial in the Old Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at the Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lebanon.
