Obituary: Steve W. Auslander DMD, 69, Bardstown

Steve W. Auslander DMD, 69, of Bardstown, died Monday, June 30, 2014, at the Episcopal Church Home in Louisville. He was born Dec. 11, 1944, in Louisville. He was owner of Dr. Auslander Family Dentistry, a member of the American Dental Association, the jewish_funeralKentucky Dental Association, the Louisville Dental Association, the Flaget Advisory Board, and was director of the Nelson County Community Dental  Clinic. He was inducted into the Nelson County Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame in January of 2014. He was a member of Temple Shalom.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lilo Behr and David D. Auslander; and on sister, Gail Auslander Zemon.

He is survived by his wife, Janine Auslander of Bardstown; one daughter, Sheila Auslander (Imre Noth) of Chicago; one brother, Michael B. Auslander DVM (Lee Ann) of Louisville; one aunt, Ellen Bizer; three nieces, Alana Auslander-Price (Jon), Rachel Mather, and Marissa Auslander; one nephew, Adam Mather (Martha); three grandchildren, Alex Noth, Ava Noth, and Ike Noth; two great-nieces, Jada and Abigail; one great-nephew, Lewis; and one cousin, Lynn Bizer-DeMarco (Gino).

The funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown with Rabbi Stanley Miles officiating.

Visitation is 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go to Ida and Bernhard Behr Holocaust Memorial Education Fund at the Jewish Community Center in Louisville, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown is in charge of arrangements.
