Hardin Co. man dies Thursday after his motorcycle is struck by car

Friday, July 4, 2014, 12:14 p.m. — A Hardin County man died Thursday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a car that crossed the centerline of South Wilson Road.
Kentucky State Police in Elizabethtown say Richard C. Lawler, 37, of Eastview, was traveling south on a 1983 Kawasaki motorcycle when he was struck by a northbound 1997 Ford Mustang driven by Michael H. Friedrich, 27, of Renfrew, Pa. The accident happened about 4:30 p.m.
Lawler died at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident. Friedrich was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. His passenger, Michelle L. Jospeh, 28, of Fort Knox, was airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville for treatment of her injuries.
The accident is being investigated by Kentucky State Police Post 4.
