Charges pending in Tuesday afternoon hit-and-run injury accident

Wednesday, July 9, 2014, 3 p.m. — Bardstown Police are planning to press charges against the operator of a Chevy pickup truck that fled the scene of an accident Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Bloomfield Road and Woodlawn police_badgeRoad.

At about 2:10 p.m., police were called to a possible injury accident at the traffic light by Rosie’s Food Mart. Witnesses said that a 2013 Dodge driving by Amanda Yarbrough was turning left from Woodlawn Road onto Bloomfield Road when a Chevrolet truck ran the light and struck Yarbrough’s vehicle.

The parties agreed to move their vehicles to a nearby parking lot. The Chevy truck fled the area and was last observed turning onto Hill Street north of the intersection. Police located the Chevy truck Wednesday at a home at 147 Glenview Drive.

Charges are pending against the driver of the Chevy truck. Police are withholding the name until the suspect is arrested.

Nelson County EMS transported Yarbrough to Flaget Memorial Hospital for a possible head injury.
