Obituary: Gerald Lee Farnsworth, 79, Cox’s Creek
Gerald Lee Farnsworth, 79, of Cox’s Creek, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 15, 1934, in Samuels. He retired from Jim Beam Distillery and was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, American Legion Post 121 and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 5710 in Shepherdsville. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Lee and Geraldine Evans Farnsworth; and one brother, James Carroll Farnsworth.
He is survived by his wife, Lila Antonia Edelen Farnsworth; one daughter, Geraldine Lee Farnsworth Cissell of Florence; four sons, Anthony David (Jannie) Farnsworth of Clarksville, Tenn., John Howard (Renee”) Farnsworth and Richard Kevin (Suzanne) Farnsworth, both of Bardstown and Stephen Lee Farnsworth of Deatsville; one sister, Rita (John) Cecconi of Springfield; one brother, Kenneth (Lynn) Farnsworth of Bardstown; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, at St. Gregory Catholic Church. The Rev. Culpepper Elliott is the celebrant.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m.Thursday, July 10, 2014, and 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home. Prayers are 7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014.
