Firefighters respond to report of heavy smoke in the Botland area

Monday, April 18, 2011, 11:54 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded to the 4500 block of Springfield Road for a report of heavy smoke in the area. According to a caller, there was a lot of smoke across the highway from 150 Quick Stop, and the caller couldn’t tell if the smoke was from a building or the field.

12:11 a.m. — Incident commander reports the source of the smoke is a brush pile behind a building across from 150 Quick Stop. They will remove some debris and building materials from the pile.

12:32 a.m. — Firefighters removed the debris from the pile and extinguished the pile.
