NE Nelson firefighters respond to Yates Cooney Neck field fire

newfirelogoWednesday, July 16, 2014, 6:20 p.m. — The Northeast Nelson Fire Department was called to the area of 570 Yates Cooney Neck Road for a field fire at 5:17 Wednesday evening. According to firefighters on the scene, the fire involved 2 to 3 acres of wheat stubble. Firefighters had the fire under control within 15 minutes. The remained on scene for a short time to check for hot spots.
