Obituary: Hobert Earl Bird, 80, Bardstown

Hobert Earl Bird, 80, of Bardstown, died at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at his home after an illness. He was born on May 6, 1934, to the late Amos and Hattie Boblitt Bird. He was a native of Washington County.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Byrd.

Survivors include, three daughters, Bernice Curtsinger (Bobby) and Patsy Scott (Alan), both of Willisburg and Donna Jean of Louisville; two sons, Donnie Byrd (Virginia) of Bloomfield and Gerald Byrd of Willisburg; three sisters, Sue Curtsinger of Harrodsburg, Flora Mae Netherly of Lawrenceburg and Sheila Murphy (Denny) of Campbellsville; one brother, Virgil Byrd (Mary Faye) of Willisburg; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield with the Rev. Everett Hood, pastor of the Brush Grove Baptist Church, officiating. Burial is in the Brush Grove Road Cemetery in Willisburg.

Visitation is after 9 a.m. Thursday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield.

Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
