JAMES COLLIE ‘JIMMY’ CRAWFORD III

James Collie “Jimmy” Crawford III, 48, of Bardstown, released his game of life after a difficult fight with cancer on Thursday, July 24, 2014. He was born Nov. 25, 1965, in Lebanon Junction. He was first recruited in 4th grade by St. Benedict’s School basketball coach Charlie Coy. His “game of life” began then. He was a 1983 graduate of Bethlehem High School and was recruited for Division II basketball at Bellarmine University. After graduation, his 30 plus career was at SWH in Louisville in sales and management. He was an active member of the St. Joseph’s Men Club, the Bethlehem High School school board, and was the announcer for Bethlehem High School’s home football games.

He was preceded in death by his twin infant sons.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years Gayle Williams Crawford; two sons, Collin Crawford, and Tommy Crawford, all of Bardstown; his parents, James and Jane Crawford of Boston; three sisters, Julie (Tracy) Allen of Jeffersonville, Jamie (Joe) Argenbright of Lebanon Junction, and Susy (Steve) Duncan of Boston; his mother-in-law, Patricia Robinson of Bardstown; two sisters-in-law, Sandy (Mark) Holloway of Louisville and Terry LeMay of Savannah, Ga.; six nieces, Andrea, Lindsay, Whitney, Anna, Addie Sue, and Piper Jane; six nephews, Spencer, Will, Alex, Josh, Kelly, and Justin; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of special friends who supported him with loving prayers, cards, food and visits.

The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with cremation to follow. The Rev. Bill Hammer will officiate.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2014, and 9–10:15 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to Bethlehem High School, or The American Cancer Society, Liver Cancer Research.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
