Nelson Circuit Court Indictments–July 2 & 16, 2014
Editor’s Note: The indictment of a person by a grand jury or otherwise is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
Thursday, June 18, 2014 – The following people were indicted by a Nelson County grand jury on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. They are scheduled for arraignment Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, unless otherwise indicated.
14-CR-144. Jacob E. Wimsett, 20, Bardstown, theft of identity of another without consent; speeding, 15 mph over limit; possession of marijuana (2 counts); possession of drug paraphernalia (2 counts); operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license (2 counts); trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces).
According to the indictment, on Feb. 27 and March 7, 2014, Wimsett allegedly possessed marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and used another person’s drivers license to identify himself to a Kentucky State Police trooper. On March 7, 2014, he possessed less than 8 ounces of marijuana with intent to sell or transfer it. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-145. Jonathan D. Case, 37, Bloomfield, manufacturing methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a controlled substance, third-degree; possession of marijuana; possession of prescription not in proper container.
According to the indictment, on June 2, 2014, Case allegedly possessed drug paraphernalia, lorazepam pills, marijuana, and a prescription not in proper container while manufacturing methamphetamine. Bail was set at $50,000. Arraignment was set for July 17, 2014.
14-CR-146. Dereck M. Crowe, 19, Bloomfield, cultivating marijuana, five or more plants; possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the indictment, on April 10, 2014, Crowe allegedly was found cultivating five or more marijuana plants while in possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions. Arraignment was set for July 17, 2014.
14-CR-147. Timothy S. Roser, 27, Louisville, burglary, first-degree and complicity to the same; criminal mischief, third-degree and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, on June 11, 2014, Roser allegedly, acting alone or in concert with Joseph D. Wade and Scotty Engle, entered an individual’s barn unlawfully causing damage of less than $500 with the intent to commit a crime while armed with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-148. Austin A. Keating, 31, Bardstown, promoting contraband, first-degree; assault, third-degree; possession of marijuana; menacing; disorderly conduct, second-degree; failure to notify address change to Department of Transportation; resisting arrest; terroristic threatening, third-degree; alcohol intoxication in a public place.
According to the indictment, on July 5, 2014, Keating allegedly was intoxication in a public place and found in possession of marijuana, threatened another person with death or serious physical injury, fought with, cursed at and bit a Nelson County deputy sheriff in the leg while resisting arrest. He also allegedly introduced marijuana into the Nelson County Jail. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-149. Scotty D. Engle, 38, Louisville, theft by unlawful taking/disposition-firearm and complicity to the same (five counts); possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (6 counts); burglary, first-degree and complicity to the same; theft by unlawful taking under $500 and complicity to the same; criminal mischief, third-degree and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, Engle — acting alone or in concert with Joseph D. Wade — allegedly took two Winchester 12-gauge shotguns valued at more than $500 each; a Winchester 20-gauge shotgun valued at more than $500; a Marlin 243 rifle valued at more than $500; and a Remington .22 rifle valued at more than $500 from a residence as a previously convicted felon armed with a deadly weapon. The indictment also alleged Engle — acting alone or in concert with Joseph D. Wade — caused damages amounting to less than $500. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-150. Miranda A. Cissell, 30, Bardstown, abandonment of a minor and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, on July 5, 2014, Cissell — acting alone or in concert with Austin A. Keating — abandoned a minor. Bail was set $5,000 cash only plus conditions.
14-CR-151. Joseph D. Wade, 36, Bardstown, theft by unlawful taking/disposition-firearm and complicity to the same (five counts); burglary, first-degree and complicity to the same; theft by unlawful taking under $500 and complicity to the same; criminal mischief, third-degree and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, Wade — acting alone or in concert with Scotty D. Engle — allegedly took two Winchester 12-gauge shotguns valued at more than $500 each; a Winchester 20-gauge shotgun valued at more than $500; a Marlin 243 rifle valued at more than $500; and a Remington .22 rifle valued at more than $500 from a residence. The indictment also alleged Wade — acting alone or in concert with Scotty D. Engle — caused damages amounting to less than $500. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-152. Austin A. Keating, 21, Bardstown, abandonment of a minor and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, Keating — acting alone or in concert with Miranda A. Cissell — on July 5, 2014, allegedly abandoned a minor. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only.
14-CR-153. Joseph A. Huston, 20, Bloomfield, trafficking in controlled substances, less than 4 grams cocaine and complicity to the same; delivery or manufacture of drug paraphernalia and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, on July 30, 2013, Huston — acting alone or in concert with William Tanner Culver — sold less than four grams of cocaine to a confidential informant and possessed drug paraphernalia with intent to deliver or manufacture it. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-154. Scotty L. Johnson, 39, New Haven, trafficking in marijuana (8 ounces to five pounds); possession of a controlled substance, first-degree; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; possession of drug paraphernalia; persistent felony offender, first-degree.
According to the indictment, on Nov. 1, 2013, Johnson allegedly possessed methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and more than 8 ounces but less than 5 pounds of marijuana with the intent to sell it. The indictment cites Johnson’s prior felony convictions as the basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-155. William Tanner Culver, 20, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree; delivery or manufacture of drug paraphernalia.
According to the indictment, between Sept. 9-11, 2013, Culver allegedly sold four grams or more of cocaine to a confidential informant. On Sept. 9, 2013 and Sept. 11, 2013, Culver allegedly possessed drug paraphernalia with the intent to deliver or manufacture it. On Sept. 11, 2013, Culver allegedly sold four or more grams of cocaine to a confidential information. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-156. William L. Davis, 39, New Haven, unlawful distribution of a methamphetamine precursor; cultivating marijuana, five or more plants and complicity to the same; possession of a controlled substance, first-degree (methamphetamine) and complicity to the same; tampering with physical evidence; manufacturing methamphetamine and complicity to the same; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity to the same;
According to the indictment, on Jan. 19, 2014, Davis allegedly possess a methamphetamine precursor with the intent to sell it. Davis — acting alone or in concert with Amy Cecil — allegedly cultivated five or more marijuana plants, manufactured and possessed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The indictment also alleges Davis tried to burn the evidence of manufacture of methamphetamine to impair its availability in the investigation. Bail was set at $20,000 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-157. William Tanner Culver, 20, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree (less than four grams cocaine) and complicity to the same; delivery or manufacture of drug paraphernalia and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, on July 30, 2013, Culver — acting alone or in concert with Joseph A. Huston — allegedly sold less than four grams of cocaine to a confidential informant and possessed drug paraphernalia with the intent to deliver or manufacture it. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-158. Amy Cecil, 40, New Haven, cultivating marijuana, five plants or more and complicity to the same; possession of a controlled substance, first-degree (methamphetamine) and complicity to the same; manufacturing methamphetamine and complicity to the same; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, on Jan. 19, 2014, Cecil — acting alone or in concert with William L. Davis — allegedly cultivated five or more marijuana plants, manufactured and possessed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $20,000 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-159. William Tanner Culver, 20, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree (4 or more grams cocaine); deliver/manufacture drug paraphernalia.
According to the indictment, on Sept. 27, 2013, Tanner allegedly possessed drug paraphernalia with the intent to distribute or manufacture it while in possession of four or more grams of cocaine. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-160. Megan L. Clark, 20, New Haven, manufacturing methamphetamine; unlawful distribution of a methamphetamine precursor.
According to the indictment, Clark allegedly manufactured methamphetamine while in possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to sell distribute or manufacture it. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-161. William Tanner Culver, 20, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree (four or more grams cocaine); deliver/manufacture drug paraphernalia.
According to the indictment, on Oct. 11, 2013, Culver allegedly sold four or more grams of cocaine to a confidential informant while in possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to deliver or manufacture it. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-162. Ada Clark, 51, New Haven, manufacturing methamphetamine.
According to the indictment, on Jan. 16, 2014, Clark allegedly manufactured methamphetamine. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-163. William Tanner Culver, 20, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree; deliver/manufacture drug paraphernalia.
According to the indictment, on Dec. 20, 2013, Culver allegedly sold four or more grams of cocaine to a confidential informant while in possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to distribute or manufacture it. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-164. Terri L. Henon, 36, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree and complicity to the same; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity to the same; endangering the welfare of a minor and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, on March 10, 2014, Henon — acting alone or in concert with Matthew T. Henon, allegedly possessed drug paraphernalia while selling less than four ounces of cocaine to a confidential informant while failing to exercise reasonable diligence to prevent a child from becoming neglected. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-165. Timothy D. Lanham, 27, Lebanon, complicity to burglary, third-degree (four counts); complicity to theft by unlawful taking (four counts).
According to the indictment, sometime between June 16-21, 2014, Lanham — acting alone or in concert with Scott J. Lucas — entered the garage and outbuildings belonging to another person and took more than $10,000 worth of tools, equipment and other items. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-166. Matthew T. Henon, 35, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree, and complicity to the same; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity to the same; endangering the welfare of a minor and complicity to the same.
According to the indictment, on March 10, 2014, Henon — acting alone or in concert with Terri L. Henon, allegedly possessed drug paraphernalia while selling less than four ounces of cocaine to a confidential informant while failing to exercise reasonable diligence to prevent a child from becoming neglected. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-167. Scott J. Lucas, 27, Bardstown, burglary, third-degree (four counts) and complicity to the same (four counts).
According to the indictment, sometime between June 16-21, 2014, Lucas — acting alone or in concert with Timothy D. Lanham — entered the garage and outbuildings belonging to another person and took more than $10,000 worth of tools, equipment and other items. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-168. Tavaris White, 24, Lexington, sodomy, third-degree.
According to the indictment, on June 25, 2014, White allegedly engaged in deviant sexual intercourse with a person incapable of consent because of an intellectual disability. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-169. Malena G. Brown, 36, Bloomfield, trafficking in controlled substance, first-degree (10 or more dosage units).
According to the indictment, on April 30, 2014, Brown allegedly possessed more than 10 dosage units of Oxycodone with the intent to sell or transfer it. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-170. Lori K. Singleton, 51, Bardstown, theft by unlawful taking over $500 but less than $10,000.
According to the indictment, between Dec. 1, 2013 and May 27, 2014, Singleton allegedly took cash from Krogers having a value of more than $500 but less than $10,000. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-171. Christian C. Vonroenn, 22, Bardstown, receiving stolen property (firearm), possession of a controlled substance, first-degree; possession of marijuana; trafficking in marijuana; possession of a controlled substance, second-degree; possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the indictment, on June 6, 2014, Vonroenn allegedly was found in possession of a defaced Smith & Wesson handgun, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, suboxone strips, drug paraphernalia and eight ounces or less of marijuana with the intent to sell. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-172. Shawn P. Kelly, 42, Bardstown, theft of a vehicle registration plate/decal, failure of owner to maintain required insurance or security, license to be in possession, expired Kentucky registration plates.
According to the indictment, on May 20, 2014, Kelly allegedly a registration decal belonging to another person, failed to having his operator’s license in his possession, failed to have insurance and had expired registration plates on his vehicle. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-173. James S. Scrogham, 33, Bardstown, possession of a controlled substance, first-degree (cocaine); possession of a controlled substance, first-degree; possession of a prescription not in a proper container (four counts); public intoxication; possession of a controlled substance, second-degree.
According to the indictment, on June 4, 2014, Scrogham allegedly was found in possession of cocaine, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, xanax, and prescription medication not in its proper container while under the influence of a controlled substance or other intoxicating substance. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-174. Joseph D. Rummage, 61, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree (10 or more dosage units), trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree (fewer than 10 dosage units).
According to the indictment, on March 6, 2013, Rummage allegedly sold more than 10 dosage units of oxycodone to a confidential informant, and on April 29, 2013, sold fewer than 10 dosage units of oxycodone to a confidential informant. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-175. William T. Bryan, 38, New Haven, trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree (4 or fewer grams of cocaine); trafficking in controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school.
According to the indictment, on Feb. 12, 2014, Bryan allegedly sold fewer than 4 grams of cocaine to a confidential informant within 1,000 feet of St. Catherine Elementary School in New Haven. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
14-CR-176. Jolene L. Gerald, 30, Bardstown, trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree (less than 10 dosage units drug opiates); trafficking in controlled substances, first-degree (10 or more dosage units drug opiates) (2 counts); possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the indictment, on Sept. 30, 2014 Gerald allegedly sold 10 or fewer dosage units of hydromorphone to a confidential informant; on Jan. 20 and March 10, 2014, sold 10 or fewer dosage units of oxycodone to a confidential informant while in possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $20,000 cash only, plus conditions.
