Stinson Drive mobile home damaged in Thursday evening fire

emslogoThursday, July 31, 10:05 p.m. — A mobile home in the 200 block of Stinson Drive was damaged by a fire at about 8 p.m. Thursday evening. The Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a fire at that address, with possible residents still inside the home. When the fire department’s incident commander arrived he insured the home was evacuated then knocked the fire down with a fire extinguisher. Fire crews followed up by checking for hidden hot spots and then assisted with salvage operations. Firefighters were on the scene for about an hour and 20 minutes. The American Red Cross was called to assist the residents with immediate housing needs. The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
