Police looking for truck that downed cable, phone lines in Boston area

Thursday, July 31, 2014, 11 p.m. — The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report that a semi tractor-trailer carrying an oversized load knocked down numerous telephone and cable TV lines on Lebanon Junction sheriffbadgeRoad at Boston, and along Boston Road from Boston to the area of Lick Creek Lane. Nelson County Dispatch received a call from a witness who was following the semi and said it was carrying what looked like a grain bin. The witness saw it knock down wires and cables along the roadway as it headed south on KY 61. The witness said the truck stopped after knocking down some wires but continued on after inspecting the damage. The caller stopped following the truck after her car was hit by a downed line.

Nelson County Dispatch issued an Attempt to Locate on the semi, described as a flatbed tractor-trailer with a white Chevrolet Silverado following behind it with its emergency flashers on. The trucks were last seen turning onto Boston Road from Lebanon Junction Road and proceeding east toward Bardstown. The trucks are believed to have turned off Boston Road somewhere in the area.

The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
