Obituary: Mary Beatrice Tucker, 94, Bardstown
Mary Beatrice Tucker, 94, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at her home. She was the former Mary Beatrice Rowe and born Jan. 11, 1920, to the late Lonnie Grayson Rowe and Ida May Rowe Chapman. She was raised in Pinson Fork in Pike County and she was a graduate of Belfry High School. She retired after 20 years with the former Owens-Illinois. She was a member of Bardstown Church of God where she taught Sunday school for several years.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Glennon Tucker; one son, Patrick Joseph Tucker; her stepfather who raised her, Tilden Chapman; one sister, Maxine Chapman Stratton; one brother, Lonnie Rowe, Jr.; three stepbrothers, Howard Chapman, Virgil Chapman and Rush Chapman; one son-in-law, Joseph (Bucky) Bartley; and one grandson, Michael Dale Vandusen.
She is survived by six daughters, Mary Jo Bartley, Linda Jo Linton, JoAnn (Vanzell) Cornett, all of Bardstown, Betty Jo (Richard) Vandusen of Texas, Joetta (Tony) Catalano of Elizabethtown, and Donna Jo (Salvador) Astudillo of Louisville; three sons, Joseph Michael (Teresa) Tucker of Bardstown, Thomas Joseph (Pam) Tucker of Bloomfield and Joseph Glennon “Little Joe” (Deborah) Tucker of Lexington; one sister, Emogene Chapman Geralds of Ypsilanti, Mich.; 36 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Bro. Mike Smith will officiate.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, and 8:30-10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at the funeral home.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
