Electrical problem leads to evacuation of Bloomfield eatery

Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, 2:53 p.m. — A Bloomfield restaurant was evacuated Sunday afternoon at about 2 p.m. when a faulty electrical plug overheated and began to burn. The Northeast Nelson Fire Department was called to Hometown Pizza, 107 Taylorsville Road in Bloomfield for smoke showing in the building. A firefighter located the electrical plug in the restaurant kitchen. Firefighters cut power to the circuit and removed the faulty plug. The business closed for a short time but was soon open again for business. Firefighters were on the scene for about 30 minutes.
