Election 2014: Simpson is second council incumbent to file Nov. election

Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, 10:30 a.m. — Bardstown City Councilman Bobby Simpson is the second sitting member of the council to file for re-election in the November general election. Simpson filed his candidacy paperwork Monday morning at the Nelson County Clerk’s office.

Simpson is the fifth candidate to file for Bardstown City Council. He joins incumbent councilman Roland “Coach Roe” Williams, Robert “Bobby” Augustine, Richard Nest, and Kecia Copeland as candidates seeking one of the six council seats.

Councilman Tommy Reed has announced he will not seek another term on the council.

The deadline to file for non-partisan races on the November 4 ballot is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12.
