Retired officer is 10th candidate to file for seat on Bardstown City Council

Bill Buckman drops his candidacy paperwork off at the Nelson County Clerk’s office to enter the race for the Bardstown City Council.

Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, 11 a.m. — Retired Bardstown Police officer Bill Buckman threw his hat in the ring Friday morning as a candidate for Bardstown City Council.

Buckman retired recently from active duty, and continues to work as a gunsmith for the Kentucky Gun Co.

Buckman is the 10th person to file for one of the six seats on the Bardstown City Council.

OTHER FILINGS. Woodlawn Road resident Danny Caldwell filed Friday morning to return as to the Nelson County Soil and Water. Three seats on the seven-person board are on the November ballot. Incumbent John H. Filiatreau Jr. filed to return to the board on July 31.

The deadline to file for local non-partisan races is 4 p.m. next Tuesday, Aug. 12.
