Obituary: George Russell Clark, Jr., 70, Bardstown

George Russell Clark, Jr., 70, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville. He was born September 7, 1943, in Loretto.  He served in the Army during the Vietnam era and retired from General Electric.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Russell Clark Sr. and Mary Ethel Murphy Clark; two brothers, Louis and Leon Clark; and sister, Mary Emma Donahue.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Clark of Bardstown; four sons, Greg Clark (Susan) of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Tommy Clark of Glen Burnie, Md., Jeffrey Clark (Jo Carol) of Bardstown, and Michael Clark (Liz) of Louisville; two sisters, Mary Mildred Brown and Mary Susan Clark ,both of Louisville; two brothers, James R. “Joe” Clark of Holy Cross and Kenneth Clark of Louisville; six grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, Jessica Burkhead, Jacob, Anna, Allison and Emma Clark; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery with the Rev. Joe Batcheldor will be officiating.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, and 9-10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at Barlow Funeral Home. Military Honors will be by the Marion County Veteran Honor Guard at the cemetery.

Barlow Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
