MARY ESTELLE BALLARD
Mary Estelle Ballard, 87, of Holy Cross, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary in Nerinx. She was born March 20, 1927, in St. Francis to the late Adrian and Elizabeth Rafferty Cambron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Philip Ballard; seven sisters, Margaret Gootee, Louise David, Gladys Smith, Jeanette Miles, Geraldine Smith, Helen Cambron and Darnell Napper; and two brothers, Everette and Samuel Cambron.
Survivors include three daughters, Darlene Miles (Kevin) of Bardstown, Jane Borders (Bob) of Owensboro and Diane Corbett (Wallace) of Lexington; two sons, Steven Ballard (Martha Lynn) of Loretto and Kenny Ballard (Nancy) of St. Francis; 16 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3560 N. St. Francis Road, Loretto. Burial is in the church cemetery. The Rev. Emil Kandor will be the celebrant with Deacon Dennis May assisting.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2014, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Pallbearers are grandsons Jay Ballard, Brian Ballard, Ken Ballard, Anthony Ballard, Joey Borders, Jeff Miles and William Corbett.
Honorary Pallbearers are granddaughters Lisa Hess, Tricia Grimes, Maria Pearl, Teresa Masterson, Sarah Wright, Michaela Grundy, Shannon Gleason, Brittany Borders and Jessica Gumbert.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of the arrangements.
