Obituary: Louis Donald Brady, 81, Bardstown
Louis Donald Brady, 81, of Bardstown, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Colonial Health and Rehabilitation in Bardstown. He was born June 26, 1933, in Marion County. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a former Bardstown Police officer, and operator of Plaza Barber Shop for more than 45 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Hardesty Brady; one son, Bernard Michael Brady; his parents, Patrick and Josephine Morris Brady; two sisters, Borgia Lee and Elizabeth Riney; and three brothers, Jim Brady, Charles Brady and Mack Brady.
He is survived by 2 sons, Gary (Lisa) Brady and Fred (Mary) Brady, both of Bardstown; four brothers, Bobby Brady, Al Brady, and Norris Brady, all of Marion County, and Gabe Brady of Louisville; four grandchildren, Lara (Brian) Wood of Norfolk, Va., Elizabeth Brady, Frederick Brady and Patrick Brady, all of Bardstown; and several nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. David Cockson will be the celebrant.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, and 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at the Houghlin- Greenwell Funeral Home. A prayer service is 6 p.m. Sunday.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
