Obituary: Katharine Cruse, 87, Hodgenville

Katharine Cruse, 87, of Hodgenville, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville. She was a loving mother, mamaw and sister, and she will be sadly missed by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Atha Salsman Hornback; one sisters, Geneva Hutcherson; two brothers, Paul and Otis Hornback; and one granddaughter, Nicki Cruse.

She is survived by three daughters, Bonnie Cruse of Buffalo, Atha (Jerry) Philhower of Laurel, Mont., and Doris (Mike) Nickell of Florissant, Colo.; three sons, Charles (Maxine) Cruse of Moline, Ill., Rick (Debbie) Cruse of Buffalo, and Linny (Tammy) Cruse of Hodgenville; two sisters, Betty Klokner of Binghamton, N.Y., and Aline (Melvin) Mortensen of Hodgenville; three brothers, Ed Hornback of Brooks, Jim (Ruth) Hornback of Hodgenville, and Bill (Nellie) Hornback of Albuquerque, N.M.; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel with Melvin Mortensen officiating. Burial is in the South Fork Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, and 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at the funeral home.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
